There’s no simple answer the area’s hypnotic attraction. It could be the array of beautiful beaches, all caressed by the Aegean sea. Or the booming nightlife, complete with trendy bars and neon nightclubs. It could be the unique meeting of the modern world and a landscape littered with ancient history. It’s probably a cocktail of all three. And more. Plus, there’s endless offers of cheap holidays to Turkey’s Bodrum region. Ideal for that last minute getaway or a longed for summer break.

Bodrum´s best Offer

Turkey Holidays – Turkey Travel Guide

Introduction

Turkey is perhaps not the first country that springs to mind when it comes to the tourism scene, but as people begin to examine the options available to them, it is no surprise whatsoever that Turkey eventually comes to the fore as being one of the strong options to pursue. This is in truth because of the fact that Turkey is a beautiful country with a rich and bustling tourism industry that knows how to please people that visit the country from out of town.

Cities in Turkey

If you are interested in a visit to the country of Turkey, there are many cities that you could consider visiting. In terms of the obvious cities, the first one on that list is the city of Istanbul. Istanbul used to be the capital of Turkey when it was part of the Ottoman Empire and before that it was also the capital of the Byzantine Empire when that particular group broke off from the main Roman Empire. In both cases however, Istanbul was the only city in the world to bisect two different continents and it remains the only city to do so to this very day.

In addition to Istanbul, no visit to Turkey is complete without a stopover in Ankara, the modern day capital of the country. After Istanbul, no other city has a larger population than Ankara and the chance to see the legislative hub of any country is always an educational experience. That educational experience can be combined with trips to Bursa and Edirne, both of which were capitals of the Ottoman Empire at one point or another. The vast amount of history available in Turkey is quite staggering and for that reason education is definitely a good reason to visit the country.

If you are interested purely in popular tourism and nothing else, Turkey still has a lot to offer. The best example of this would be Antalya, which is the city in Turkey with the fastest growth rate primarily because of the tourism hub it has become. With beautiful beaches, fantastic resorts and absolutely gorgeous scenery, this is the place to go if you want the typical world class tourism experience with as much pampering along the way as possible.

Other Tourism Ideas in Turkey

For something completely different, a visit to the Cappadocia region in Turkey might be just what the doctor ordered. With a number of different bumps and mounds all around the area, the landscape is decidedly lunar in appearance and indeed you might even be able to take a picture of it and fool friends and family back home into thinking that you actually went to the moon! With cities that are located underground and churches that are literally build into cave walls, you might be able to strengthen your argument since it truly is one of the most unique sites on Earth.

Conclusion

These are just some of the ideas for Turkey tourism that you can use as a starting point for developing your own extravagant adventure. In the end though, it is easy to see why Turkey is such a popular tourism destination.
